The “Biju KBK” scheme has been launched for the upliftment of the most backward region of the state. This is the state government’s own plan.
To alleviate poverty, the government has made arrangements for new irrigation projects in agriculture or restoration of old projects.
To implement this scheme a list of projects is collected from the Irrigation Executive Officer and given to the District Collector for approval. After submitting the DPRs to the District Collector, the funds are sanctioned and the work begins. Finally the projects are handed over to the farming committee for operation and maintenance.
